PERSONALITY.
eddie was blissfully unaware of the upside down until spring break of 1986. his first encounter with it was when chrissy cunningham died in his living room. since then, he’s been to the upside down more times than he wanted to be, and died in it. he has horrible nightmares of that entire week, and thunderstorms terrify him.eddie has never cared about how others perceived him, he’d rather be his own person and have people hate them than put on a facade that isn’t him. however, most people who don’t understand him dislike him, but those who do understand him love him. he is very devoted to his position as leader of hellfire, and refuses to postpone campaigns unless it’s absolutely necessary. at first glance, he may come off as scary, but he’s actually very kind, open-minded, and caring. eddie struggled in school, most likely as a combination of his rough background and eccentric personality rather than low intelligence. eddie is actually rather intelligent, especially on topics he’s interested in.

HOBBIES. playing D&D, writing campaigns, writing music, playing guitar, drawing.HABITS. he tends to doodle on himself (arms, hands, etc), and he bites and picks around his nails a lot, so his fingertips are always extremely irritated. when he is embarrassed or flustered, he will pull his hair in front of his face and twirl it. he is a big nervous rambler, too, and can't shut up whatsoever when he's anxious. eddie acts dramatic a lot to hide how he really feels. he thinks that if he exaggerates how he feels that no one will notice when he really does feel strong emotions. he's done this so much to the point where it is habitual.ASPIRATIONS. eddie wants corroded coffin to sell out stadiums, and he desperately wishes to get the hell out of hawkins as soon as possible.INTERACTION. he feels extremely selfish when he gets emotional to the point that they can’t hide it anymore. he hates when other people know how he feels, and he doesn’t want their sympathy. this is also why they don’t tell many people about what happened to his mom. however, he wants to be comforted when he’s upset, but hates having to reach out to people, so they usually don’t. they make an exception for steve, however, as he sees steve as a safe place, and knows steve won’t see them any differently. on top of this, eddie acts dramatic a lot to hide how they really feel. he thinks that if he exaggerates how he feels that no one will notice when he really does feel strong emotions. he puts on a façade that nothing bothers them, just to save the others from worrying about him.

EMOTIONAL. eddie absolutely hates asking people for help/advice. he also hates telling people his problems. he doesn’t want anyone to be burdened with his issues, so most of the time he keeps to himselfwhen his emotions get to be too much, he isolates himself from everyone. he locks himself in his room and rots until he’s feeling alright again. he doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep, doesn’t shower, anything. he just lays in bed and waits.GIFTS. eddie has a love/hate relationship with people buying them things. on one hand he’s super grateful that someone would think enough of him to buy him something, but on the other hand, they don’t typically like when people buy him things. he hates feeling like a “charity case”, as he puts it. he doesn’t want people to give them gifts out of sympathy. on the other hand, he loves giving people gifts. they remember a lot, especially when it comes to the people he cares about. if someone mentions something they’re interested in and eddie finds something even remotely related to it he buys it for them because he loves making people happy.THE LITTLE THINGS. eddie has a fascination for sixties/seventies halloween decoration. he thinks the colors are nice and the designs are cool. his personal favorite is the smiling black cat ceramic he found in a yard sale for a dollar.the ring with the black stone that eddie always wears was a gift from his mom. it’s one of his most prized possessions, next to his guitars.is a crow personified - he literally has just so many Things in his room/pockets that he finds and deems cool enough to take.

steve harrington    ⁺     best friend/lover.eddie originally thought steve was a total douchebag, but as they got to know him they realized that wasn’t the case in the slightest. he and steve also used to argue over dustin, believing the other was a bad influence on him. now they both realize that isn’t true, and are closer than ever.hi!!dustin henderson     ⁺     best friend.eddie met dustin on the latter’s first day of high school. he looked lost and overwhelmed, so eddie invited him to sit with him and his friends at lunch. they became friends quickly, and they’re more like brothers now. they’ve been through literal hell together, and nothing could ever drive them apart.hi!!victor beckett     ⁺     best friend.vic and eddie met at a camp for “troubled kids”, where they instantly clicked. vic looked out for eddie, and would fight (verbally and/or physically) with anyone who was mean to them. now they make fun of each other more than anyone else, but in the way siblings do.
